How to reach Shimla

Shimla is very well connected by road to some of the big cities like Delhi, Kalka, Chandigarh, Ambala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Jammu and some other towns of Haryana and Punjab. The city is connected through a narrow gauge line to Kalka which is connected though a broad gauge line with connecting trains from some of the major cities of India. The distance from Kalka to Shimla is 95 kms. and during its journey of about six hours the train passes through 106 tunnels with picturesque scenery around.
